IN MEMORY OF DAVID THOMAS JONES- A LETTER TO DAVY

Dear Davy,

What's it like in heaven? We miss you a lot. Even though we never met, just knowing that a man like you existed made the world seem like a nicer place. My eyes brim with tears knowing that tomorrow marks one year since your passing. I don't know why but the moment I saw you dance across my television screen, it was a feeling that I cannot describe. I don't think anyone could understand what we, the fan girls, are going through. Every year, March first and sometimes February 29th, will be very sorrowful days for us girls. Because that day ours became a world without Davy.
It's been a whole year but the wound is still so fresh. I always figured that one day I would get the chance to meet you and I know now that that day won't be for quite some time. I miss you, we all miss you. That face, that smile, your kindness and dedication to your fans.
Thank you Davy for all the laughs, for all the songs, for sharing your self with us and asking for nothing more than our adoration.Thank you Davy for making the morning brighter. For making a better world for me

Love,

One of many brokenhearted fan girls.

-Do it for Peter-
I could hide beneath the wing of the bluebird as she sings and the six o'clock alarm would never ring,
but six rings and I rise, wipe the sleep out of my eyes.
I guess I should have stayed in bed, my pillow wrapped around my head.
I'm as low as I've been in a long time.
Sorrow's turned my heart to frost.
Numb my soul and make it hard for me to see.
My thoughts all seem to stray to places far away.
I need a change of scenery.
I wish I had another drink.

The Porpoise song

The opening scene of Head,
Why couldn't that girl have been me?

My, my the clock in the sky is pounding away
There's so much to say
A face, a voice, an overdub has no choice
And it cannot rejoice

Wanting to be, to hear and to see
Crying to the sky

But the porpoise is laughing good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

Clicks, clacks
Riding the backs of giraffes for laughs is alright for a while
The ego sings of castles and kings and things
That go with a life of style

Wanting to feel, to know what is real
Living is a lie

But the porpoise is waving good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

I just don't want to know about the real world at all...

Sometimes The Monkees are the only reason I hang on.
When the day is making my skin crawl...
And the time clock is ticking too slowly.
Half past annoyed and a quarter 'til frustration.
"Hold on girl, wait a little bit longer."
I smile knowing that chill is just a drive and a click of the remote away.
"Weren't they good, they made me happy.
I think I can make it alone..."
Because I have listened to The Monkees.

Listen to The Band

The Monkees always save the day!!!

Davy was a hipster waaaay before it was cool!

Davy took a sip of beer and then stated that he moved to LA because Manchester was becoming too gentrified...He also noted that The Monkees were perhaps becoming too mainstream. JK guys I could go on like this forever

Special Thanks to Psycho Jello Monkees fan site for this photo.
I saw it and just couldn't resist sharing!
